Getting Started
Overview
Colabmacs (Collaborative Lab Management and Access Control System) is a web based platform designed to manage access to physical resources in a shared environment. Typical applications are Core Academic Units, MakerSpaces, Libraries, or any other space that needs to manage access to equipment, spaces, or consumables.
The system tracks usage on resources so that Facility managers can generate charges for Resource usage.
Core Concepts
The application centres around Resources, Trainings and Schedules. Access to resources is controlled through Rules, which can be used to ensure only those individuals who have been adequately trained may book, or use resources. Rules may also be used to establish and enforce a variety of access policies, unique to each lab.
Account Creation
The first step in creating a Colamacs application is to register for an account at Colabmacs.app and select a subscription plan. From this account, you will be able to create as many individual applications as you need. Once created, your application instances will be accessible at url similar to
